What Are Article Templates?

Article templates are custom-made formats that users create based on their specific needs. Instead of being pre-built, templates are designed from existing articles and saved for future use. By using templates, you can maintain consistency across your Knowledge Base, ensuring that all content follows the same structure and style.

Templates save time by providing a pre-set framework for articles, allowing users to focus on content rather than formatting. They're especially helpful when multiple team members are creating content, as they ensure standardization and improve the overall user experience.

How To Create an Article Template

From the Article Template Section

You can easily create, edit, and manage your templates directly in the Article Templates section. Here's how:

1. Access Your Dashboard.
2. Click on the Article Templates section.
3. If you don't have any templates, you'll see the editor where you can create it
   
4. If you already have templates and want to create another one, click on New Article Template +
   

From the Article Editor

If you already have an article that you’d like to turn into a template:

1. Open the article editor
2. Click on the More actions […] menu on the top right corner > Save as Template.
3. Give your template a name, and save it.

How to Create an Article from a Template

There are two ways to create an article from a template:

From the Article Template Section

1. Access the Article Templates section.
2. Click Edit (pencil icon) next to the template you want to use.
3. Click the Create Article From This Template button located at the bottom of the page.

From the Dashboard

1. On your Dashboard, click the blue + sign > New Article From Template.
2. Select the template you want to use, and start creating your article.
