SSL Certificates Already Provisioned By Us

If you are using Custom Domain, you do not need to upload SSL keys as we already auto-generate it for you using LetsEncrypt.  We also handle auto-renewal of your LetsEncrypt SSL. You do not need to do anything after setting up your Custom Domain (see How To Set Up Custom Domains)

Please note that the certificate may take 30 minutes to be available on your KB.

If you wish to upload your own SSL Certs, you may still do so and we'll use your provided ones instead of LetsEncrypt.

Uploading Custom Certificates And Private Keys

Uploading your certificate is fairly simple, and you'll just need the certificate chain and the private key files. Our servers accept wildcards and also defined domain certs.

Please note that this process is done entirely on your end, including fixes for errors such as "private key not valid".

Once you have the files:

  • Click on your Profile Picture > Settings
  • Access the SSL section
  • Upload your Certificate Chain in .pem format
  • Upload your Private Key in .key format

Please note that the private key must be saved as a .key file and the concatenated certificates in .pem format.

If you are experiencing issues with the upload, please take a look at Troubleshooting: Private Key Is Not Valid for more information.

Why is the knowledge base important?

With a knowledge base, you can allow your customers to self-help themselves, thus reducing your customer support by up to 60%. Furthermore, you can also have your team get instant answers to the questions they need without having to email themselves all using knowledge base software.

What is the purpose of a knowledge base?

The purpose of knowledge base software is to allow you to host your knowledge base/corporate wiki in one centralized 'hub'. Both your customers, and employees can now access information within seconds!
