- How to share the encrypted URL securely
- Best practices for keeping your KB private
Enabling Access via Encrypted URL
- Click on your Profile Picture > Settings.
- Access the Accessibility & Privacy section.
- Turn on Accessible only via encrypted URL.
- Click Save Changes.
- Share the encrypted link generated.
Once enabled, your knowledge base will no longer be accessible through its normal URL - only through the encrypted one provided by Helpjuice.
If users try to access a regular URL, a 404 page will be displayed.
Sharing the Encrypted URL
You can share the encrypted link with teammates, partners, or clients who need access.
- Anyone without the link will not be able to access your knowledge base - a 404 page will be displayed.
- If you want to stop sharing access, you can generate a new encrypted URL.
Regenerating The Encrypted Link
If you gave the link to the wrong person, all you have to do is click Regenerate Token and the old link you gave to the wrong person will no longer be valid and your knowledge base won't be accessible if someone tries to re-use the old URL token.
Please note that all users who have access to the secret link will be able to see all Public and Internal content by default.
Best Practices
- Keep the link secure: Only share it with people you trust.
- Regenerate if compromised: If you suspect the URL has been shared too widely, regenerate it in your settings.
