What is the Articles Tab in the Analytics Section?

The Articles tab in the Analytics section provides a detailed breakdown of all your articles, including key metrics such as views, readings, likes, dislikes, and areas where answers may need improvement. It helps you monitor the performance of your content and track user engagement for individual articles.

Why are the Articles Analytics Important?

This section is crucial for understanding how users interact with your content. It provides insights into which articles are performing well and where improvements may be needed. By analyzing this data, you can optimize your articles for better user engagement, identify popular topics, and address areas with negative feedback.

How Do I Access this Tab?

To review how your Knowledge Base categories are being used, follow these steps:

  1. Open your Dashboard.
  2. Click on the Analytics icon.
  3. Once on the Analytics page, navigate to the Articles tab.

How Do I Filter the Data?

The Articles tab allows you to filter the analytics data by:

  • Timeframe: You can set a specific date using the calendar option or choose from pre-defined filters such as Last 7 days, 30 days, or All time.
  • Accessibility: Filter by Public, Internal, or Public & Internal content to get more focused insights.

How Do I Export the Data?

You can export the analytics data for articles in .XLS or .CSV format for further analysis. This export includes key metrics, allowing you to review article performance outside of Helpjuice, using tools like Excel or Google Sheets.

To do so, simply scroll to the bottom of the page and click on Export XLS or Export CSV, and the file will be automatically downloaded to your computer.

Data Dictionary

When exporting the .XLS or .CSV file, the following columns will appear to help you understand the exported data:

Column Description
Title The title of the article
Views The number of views the article got it the specified timeframe
Readings The number of times the article was read (user spent more than 10 seconds on the page).
Likes The number of likes the article received
Dislikes The number of dislikes the article received
Avg. Time Spent The average amount of time users spent on the article.
Last Updated The date the article was last modified or updated.

Additional Sections in the Articles Tab

This tab also contains specialized sections to help you identify top-performing and underperforming articles:

  • Most Read Articles: Displays the articles with the highest number of readings.
  • Most Viewed Articles: Shows the articles with the most views.
  • Most Liked Articles: Lists the articles that received the most likes.

Why is the knowledge base important?

With a knowledge base, you can allow your customers to self-help themselves, thus reducing your customer support by up to 60%. Furthermore, you can also have your team get instant answers to the questions they need without having to email themselves all using knowledge base software.

What is the purpose of a knowledge base?

The purpose of knowledge base software is to allow you to host your knowledge base/corporate wiki in one centralized 'hub'. Both your customers, and employees can now access information within seconds!
