How Google Sign-In Works in Helpjuice
Google enables companies to use their own domain for email addresses (e.g., @yourcompany.com). Helpjuice supports using Google Sign-In to create and authenticate user accounts.
- If a user already exists in Helpjuice with an email authenticated through Google, they are signed in and redirected to the Dashboard.
- If no exact email match is found, Helpjuice checks the domain of the email address (e.g., @helpjuice.com).
- If an account is associated with the domain (e.g., helpjuice.com), Helpjuice creates a new user with the provided email, signs them in, and redirects them to the Dashboard.
Setting Up Google Domain Authentication
To associate a Google domain with a Helpjuice account:
- Go to Settings in Helpjuice.
- Locate the Google Apps & Authentication section.
- Enter your Google Apps Domain in the provided field.
This ensures users from the specified domain can sign in via Google.

It's not possible to add multiple email domains at this time.
User Permissions for Google Sign-In
- For security purposes, new users created via Google Sign-In are automatically assigned the Viewer role.
- Viewers can only read content in the Knowledge Base and cannot make any changes.
- Administrators can enable or disable the option to Allow new users to Sign Up through Google Apps Authentication in the Settings page.
Best Practices
- Always verify your Google Apps Domain is correctly entered in Settings to avoid sign-in issues.
- Regularly review new accounts created via Google Sign-In to ensure only authorized team members have access.
- Communicate with your team that they should use their company Google account (not personal Gmail) when signing in.
